Why people hunt it

Clearview Jonas, a 2017 Richard Parshall introduction, ranks seventh on the Fab 50 for 2025 with 132 ribbons and carries Derrill Hart honors. It is one of seven Clearview cultivars in the top fifty, the most of any breeder family, a clear sign of how thoroughly Parshall's semi-cactus work has shaped the modern show table. Jonas pairs naturally with Clearview Edie, the white from the same line, the two covering the big show-cactus class in white and soft blend. With the Clearview farm quiet, the varieties move through resellers.

Growing notes, including the hard parts

Clearview Jonas is a large semi-cactus in a soft light blend, the pastel counterpart to the white Edie from the same program. Semi-cactus form gives it spiky energy at near-dinnerplate scale, so it needs staking and rewards disbudding for full size and stem length. Standard care otherwise. It is a Derrill Hart honoree and a high Fab 50 finisher, so it earns its bench space, but the gentle coloring also makes it more arrangement-friendly than a stark show white. Bear Creek and other resellers carry the Clearview line.
