Parkland Rave

Parkland Rave ranks fifth on the ADS Fab 50 for 2025 with 157 ribbons and won the Stanley Johnson Medal in 2014. The Parkland series came out of a Canadian prairie breeding program aimed at varieties that perform in a short, cold-summer season, which is partly why these flowers hold up where others struggle. For exhibitors, Rave is a dependable lavender cactus that produces the precise spiky form judges look for. We could not confirm the individual raiser or a clean introduction year, so both stay flagged.

Parkland Rave is a small incurved cactus in lavender, the form whose narrow rolled petals curve toward the center for a clasped, sculptural effect quite unlike a soft decorative. Cactus forms reward good growing with crisp, spiky symmetry, and this one wins on the bench. At four to six inches it is a usable cut with real texture. Standard care, stake and pinch.
